This article explains how to determine who can access your Event App.
ACCESS TYPES AT A GLANCE
Under Event App > Setup > Access, you can define the access type:
| Access type | Description |
|---|---|
| Public | The Event App is accessible to everyone; no login is required |
| Protected | Only users with a valid access method can gain access |
AUTHENTICATION METHODS FOR PROTECTED ACCESS
If the Event App is configured as "Protected", select an authentication method as well:
| Method | Description |
|---|---|
| Booking code | Guests sign in with their personal booking code |
| Access code | Guests sign in with a shared access code |
HOW TO CHANGE THE ACCESS TYPE
1. Open Event App > Setup > Access.
2. Under "Access control", choose between "Public" and "Protected".
3. For "Protected", also select "Booking code" or "Access code".
4. Save your selection.
WHICH ACCESS TYPE IS SUITABLE FOR WHAT?
• Public is suitable for events where anyone interested should be able to use the app, such as trade shows with open access.
• Booking code is suitable when only registered guests should have access and you want to track access on an individual basis.
• Access code is suitable when a group (such as all employees of a company) should use the same code.
| Note: You configure the domain under which the Event App is accessible in the same "Access" section. For more information, see the article "Set up a custom domain for the Event App". |
