In this article, you will learn how to use visibility rules to control which participants see an app page and when.
WHAT ARE VISIBILITY RULES?
Each visibility rule combines an audience with an optional time condition. Multiple rules are linked with OR; two rules for the same audience together form a closed time window. In short, you can set who sees what and when.
If there are no rules, the page is visible to everyone.
You can find this setting in the Visibility tab of an app page (as well as for sessions, push notifications, and other content).
HIDE FROM EVERYONE
The "Hide from everyone" option completely hides a page regardless of audiences, for example while it is still being edited.
MANAGE AUDIENCES (GROUPS)
1. Click Manage groups.
2. Click Create group and enter a group name.
3. Under "Conditions", define when a participant belongs to the group, for example based on guest status or custom registration fields. Conditions can be linked with AND/OR.
4. The "Matching guests" display shows in real time how many guests currently meet the conditions.
ADD A RULE
1. For the desired page, click Add rule.
2. Select an audience.
3. Optional: Further limit the rule by time.
4. The preview shows you in text form who can see the page.
5. Click Save visibility.
EXAMPLES OF USE
• A VIP area that is shown only to guests with a specific ticket type.
• A page that only becomes visible on the day of the event from a specific time.
• A programme item that is automatically hidden again after the session ends.
| Note: You also use the same audience system for sessions in the agenda builder, push notifications, attendee directories, and channels. |
