To be able to import guests with companions, you must first ensure in the event settings that companions are allowed for your event.
For the import, you need to prepare your guest list in a specific way. As per usual, you have your standard column headers for your main guest. The companions are placed directly next to the main guest. The column headers follow this pattern:
####|Column Name
#### - You can name this section however you want; it will not be transferred to the guest list
but is only important for assigning as a companion. It is recommended to use "Companion" to keep it clear.
| - A vertical bar is used here (not a capital "I" or lowercase "L").
Column Name - The column name will be the same as in the guest list. For example, the
standard fields "First Name," "Email," and your custom fields.
(Attention! - If there is more than one companion, _2, _3, _4, etc. must be added after ####. For example, Companion|First Name for the 1st companion and Companion_2|First Name for the second one.)
Once your Excel file is prepared, you can start the import process.
To do this, go to the guest list and click "Import Guests" in the top right corner.
Then you can upload your CSV file or simply copy and paste it into the box.
Don't forget to set the toggle at the bottom for "Use first row as column headers".
You will then receive a first overview where you can check your fields and, if necessary, create them directly.
If the fields match, you will reach the final page, where you can check how many guests will be imported and whether the values of your fields match the selected fields.
If everything is correct, you can complete the import process, which should be finished quickly depending on the size of the import. If the system encounters an error, a pop-up will appear in the top right, and you can download an error report from the "bell" icon in the top right.
If everything went smoothly, you can further visualize your guest list by clicking on "Options" on the right and then selecting "Load table view". Here you can choose a group view to clearly see your main guests with their companions.
