With the recommendation feature, your main guests can suggest additional people for your event themselves. Each recommendation is automatically added to the guest list with a status you specify – you decide whether the recommendation is reviewed first or directly receives an invitation.
OVERVIEW
A main guest who registers through your registration form can then recommend one or more additional people (e.g., colleagues, partners, friends). For each recommendation, a new entry is automatically created in your guest list. From there, you have two options:
- Manual review: The recommendation appears in the list with a status such as listed or requested, and you decide on the invitation yourself.
- Automated invitation: The recommendation immediately receives the status invited, and the corresponding invitation email is sent automatically.
REQUIREMENTS
- Access to your event’s landing page with editing rights for the registration form.
- A registration form where the recommendation feature can be activated.
ACTIVATING AND CONFIGURING RECOMMENDATIONS
- Navigate in the AirLST Suite to your landing page and open the registration form.
- Activate recommendations in the "Recommendations" tab of your registration form.
- Once the feature is active, the following settings are available to you:

| Maximum number of recommendations per main guest | Limits how many people a single main guest may recommend. |
| Default guest status for recommendations | The status with which a recommendation is automatically created in the guest list: listed, invited, requested, or confirmed. |
| Form fields for recommendations | The fields the main guest must fill out for each recommendation. The email address is a recommended mandatory field, as without it no invitation or further communication to the recommended guest is possible. |
- Save the registration form.
PROCESS FROM YOUR MAIN GUEST'S PERSPECTIVE
- The main guest registers as usual via your landing page.
- In the form, they see the recommendations section and can enter additional people there – up to the specified maximum number – using the fields you defined.
- Each entered recommendation is automatically added to your guest list with the set default status.
TIPS & BEST PRACTICES
Choose the default status deliberately
If you want to review each recommendation yourself (e.g., with limited capacity or security requirements), choose requested or imported. If you want the process to be fully automatic, choose invited.
Limit the maximum number realistically
A low limit (e.g., 1–3) prevents uncontrolled growth of the guest list beyond the planned capacity.
Keep form fields lean
Besides the email, only ask for the fields you really need for invitation and planning (e.g., first and last name). The rest is filled in by the recommended person during their own registration.
Check the email template
If you assign the status invited automatically, make sure beforehand that the appropriate invitation email for this status is stored and active.
