Release 04/26 – What's New in the Check-in App

This article gives you a high-level overview of all new features in the AirLST Check-in App Release 04/26. From profile management and PIN protection to multi guest list scanning and flexible check-in filters.

• An iOS or Android device designated for on-site check-in.

OVERVIEW

The Spring Release 04/26 is the largest feature update to the AirLST Check-in App since its initial launch. The focus is on professional check-in setups involving multiple devices, multiple events, and clearly defined roles for entrance staff.

This release is designed for event organizers, agencies, and enterprises with professional admission and attendee management. Existing workflows remain unchanged – new features are activated only where you need them.

NEW FEATURES AT A GLANCE

CHECK-IN PROFILES

With Check-in Profiles, you manage complete check-in configurations as named profiles – including filters, alerts, print settings, PIN, and location. When switching profiles, the app automatically adopts all settings. Profile updates are synchronized across all devices using the same active profile.

PIN PROTECTION

Protect app settings with a 4-digit numeric PIN to prevent unintended or unauthorized configuration changes at the entrance. The PIN is stored encrypted on the device and can be changed at any time.

MULTI GUEST LIST SCAN

Validate tickets across multiple events and guest lists simultaneously at the entrance – without merging lists. Ideal for parallel events at the same venue, cross-venue admissions, or multiple ticket categories that converge in the same entry flow.

CHECK-IN ONLY VIEW

A restricted app mode that only allows ticket validation via scan. Guest lists, search, and detail views are disabled – ideal for handing a device to entrance staff without giving them access to personal guest data.

CHECK-IN FILTERS

Define precisely which guests are eligible for check-in when scanned. Filters can be applied to contact fields, extended contact fields, booking fields, and guest fields – now including time-based restrictions. Within a group, filters are linked with AND; between groups, with OR.

COMPANION NOTIFICATIONS (TOGGLE)

Optionally disable the notification about unchecked-in companions after a guest check-in. This reduces clicks and distractions in high-volume events or pure check-in-only scenarios.

ADDITIONAL IMPROVEMENTS

In addition to the six new main features, this release includes a number of smaller improvements and fixes – including more reliable camera behavior when the app goes into the background, more stable synchronization during profile changes, more robust authentication, and corrections in the guest list and localizations. Under the hood, the platform has been modernized (React Native upgrade, improved error tracking, over-the-air updates, Android 16KB page size compatibility, and a managed in-app update prompt).
