In this article, you will learn how to insert an unsubscribe link (opt-out) into your event emails in just a few steps, how the unsubscribe process works in the system, and how to evaluate the opt-in/opt-out status of your guests.
PREREQUISITES
Make sure you have the necessary permissions to create and edit email templates and that your guest list is already set up in the system.
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
IMPLEMENTING THE OPT-OUT LINK
Open the Email Editor
Navigate in the AirLST Suite to Messages → Emails and open the template where you want to insert the opt-out link.Insert Placeholder
Click on Find Placeholder in the taskbar, switch to the group URLs, and select Unsubscribe Link.
→ You will get the placeholder{{guest.email_unsubscribe_url}}.Set Hyperlink
Highlight the sentence or word in the text that should serve as the link (e.g., “Click here to unsubscribe from event communication.”).
Click the hyperlink icon and enter the target URL as{{guest.email_unsubscribe_url}}.-
Save and Test
Save your template and send yourself a test email.
In the test, click the unsubscribe link and check that:You are redirected to a confirmation window
After confirmation, an unsubscribe confirmation appears
You no longer receive any further event-related emails
TECHNICAL PROCESS FOR THE GUEST
Your guest clicks the opt-out link in the email.
The system redirects the guest to a confirmation page (“Do you really want to unsubscribe?”).
After clicking “Yes, unsubscribe,” the guest is removed from the distribution list of the respective event-related communication.
REPORTING & MONITORING
View Opt-In History
Go to Messages → Emails → Opt-In History to see all unsubscribes and subscribes with date and time.
With this opt-out link, you offer your participants a simple, legally compliant way to unsubscribe and always keep track of their communication status for the respective event.
