With CC (“Carbon Copy”) and BCC (“Blind Carbon Copy”) you can inform additional recipients about outgoing emails — e.g., internal teams, agencies, or the responsible sales contact. In the AirLST Suite you can either use static email addresses or use placeholder fields that are populated per guest.
PREREQUISITES
- Permission to edit Email Templates in the AirLST Suite.
- (Optional) A custom field of type “Email” if CC/BCC should be populated dynamically via placeholder.
- An email template (new or existing) in which CC/BCC will be set.
OPTION A
STORE STATIC EMAIL ADDRESSES IN CC/BCC
- Open Email Templates
Go to your event’s Email Templates and open the desired template (or create a new one). Maintain CC/BCC
Enter the required email addresses under CC and/or BCC.Important: Separate multiple recipients → use a comma (,)
- Save & test
Save the template and send a test email to verify delivery and rendering.
Notes
- Use a comma, not a semicolon.
- Ensure valid email formats (e.g., name@domain.de).
- Prefer BCC for sensitive addresses to avoid visibility to other recipients.
OPTION B
POPULATE CC/BCC DYNAMICALLY WITH PLACEHOLDERS
If you want to notify different recipients depending on the guest, use a placeholder field of type “Email.”
EXAMPLE:
For a customer event, the registration confirmation should BCC the customer’s responsible sales representative.
STEP 1
CREATE A CUSTOM EMAIL FIELD
- Create a new custom field.
- Name: e.g., “Sales Representative”
- Field type: Email
Save & test
Important: Placeholders make sense for CC/BCC only if the field type is Email. Text or multi-line fields are not suitable.
STEP 2
POPULATE THE FIELD
Enter, per guest, the email address of the responsible sales contact into the new field.
STEP 3
USE THE PLACEHOLDER IN THE EMAIL TEMPLATE
- Open the desired template.
- In the template header at BCC (or CC), click Add placeholder.
- Select your custom Email field.
- Save and send a test email.
Result:
Depending on the value stored for the guest, the corresponding address will automatically be added to BCC and notified of the registration.
If no value is stored for the guest, no additional address is added to CC/BCC.
BEST PRACTICES & TROUBLESHOOTING
- Avoid duplicates: If the same address appears in To: and CC/BCC, the person may be notified multiple times.
- Check empty values: Filter your guest list for empty entries to close gaps where needed.
- Respect data protection: Use BCC to keep additional recipients hidden; only include necessary, correct contacts.
