In this article, you will learn about the Express Checkout.
A checkout mode that allows guests to purchase tickets without immediately providing attendee information.
Ticket personalization takes place afterward via a link or by forwarding through email.
PREREQUISITES
- The registration form for bookings must be activated.
- Registration must be open (registration type = Open and by invitation).
- Only paid tickets (price greater than €0) can be sold via the Express Checkout.
ACTIVATING EXPRESS CHECKOUT
1. Open the event settings in your event.
2. Change the registration type to “Open and by invitation.”
3. Switch the “Type of Checkout” to “Express Checkout.”

THE 3-STEP CHECKOUT PROCESS FOR YOUR GUESTS
Unlike the standard checkout, the Express Checkout does not collect attendee data during booking:
- Select tickets – choose ticket types and quantities.
- Provide billing information – name, email, company, and buyer’s address.
- Confirmation – order overview with the option to personalize tickets immediately.
After successful payment, the system automatically creates an anonymous guest for each purchased ticket.
EMAILS AFTER PURCHASE
The guest automatically receives after completing payment:
- 1× booking confirmation – with invoice and a link to the confirmation page where tickets can be personalized.
- 1× guest confirmation per ticket – with PDF or wallet ticket for direct forwarding to the respective attendee (if included in the email template).
PERSONALIZATION
You or your buyer can assign the anonymous tickets to a real person at any time:
- Immediately after checkout via the confirmation page.
- At any later time via the link in the booking confirmation email.
- With each personalization, the respective guest automatically receives an updated confirmation at their email address.

Check-in also works without prior personalization – the QR code on the ticket is valid immediately. This way, your guests can check in even if attendee data has not yet been entered. |

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need to know who will use the tickets at the time of purchase?
No. You only provide your own billing information during purchase. Attendee data can be added later by you or the respective person via the confirmation page.
Can guests check in without personalization?
Yes. The QR code on the ticket is valid from the time of purchase – personalization is not mandatory for check-in.
Who is the Express Checkout suitable for?
Especially for corporate customers with centralized ticket purchasing, e.g., when an assistant or HR department buys tickets for a team before it is determined who will attend.
Can I issue free tickets through the Express Checkout?
No. The Express Checkout is only available for paid tickets (price greater than €0).
