This article explains how to secure the settings of the AirLST Check-in App with a numeric PIN, how to change the PIN, and what happens if the PIN is entered incorrectly or forgotten.
PREREQUISITES
- Latest version of the AirLST Check-in App (Release 04/26 or later).
- A valid AirLST account with access to the desired event.
OVERVIEW
PIN Protection secures access to the app settings. Once activated, a 4-digit numeric PIN must be entered to open the settings. This prevents entrance staff from accidentally or intentionally modifying scan settings, filters, or profiles during an event.
The PIN is stored exclusively in encrypted form on the device. AirLST never has access to the PIN.
|
NOTE PIN Protection is device-specific. Each device can have its own PIN – there is no centralized, account-wide master PIN. |
HOW TO SET UP PIN-PROTECTION
- Open the app settings in the AirLST Check-in App.
- Navigate to "PIN Protection".
- Enable PIN Protection. The app enters setup mode.
- Enter a 4-digit numeric PIN.
- Confirm the PIN by entering it again. The PIN is stored encrypted on the device.
- From now on, opening the settings will require PIN verification.
HOW TO CHANGE THE PIN
- Open the settings and unlock them with the current PIN.
- Navigate to "PIN Protection" and select "Change PIN".
- Enter the current PIN.
- Set and confirm the new 4-digit PIN.
INCORRECT PIN ENTRY
If a wrong PIN is entered, the app provides visual feedback and prompts for re-entry. Settings are only unlocked after the correct PIN is provided.
|
WARNING Please keep a note of your PIN in a safe place. If you forget the PIN, protection can only be removed by reinstalling the app or resetting the device – stored configuration may be lost. We recommend using Check-in Profiles to keep configurations centrally available. |
USE CASES
