This article explains how to use the Device Monitor to keep track of the status of all check-in devices for your event in real time.
REQUIREMENTS
Before you start, you need:
- An active event in the AirLST Suite
- At least one check-in device that has already loaded the guest data for the event
WHAT IS THE DEVICE MONITOR
The Device Monitor provides a central real-time overview of all active check-in devices for an event. This allows you to immediately identify during the event which devices are offline, have sync problems or have a low battery level.
A device appears in the Device Monitor as soon as it has loaded the guest data for the event for the first time. Each device then automatically reports its current status every 60 seconds. The overview refreshes automatically every 30 seconds.
OPEN THE DEVICE MONITOR
- Open the desired event in the AirLST Suite.
- In the Guests section of the left sidebar, click Device Monitor.
- The overview automatically loads all devices for the active event.
UNDERSTANDING DEVICE STATUS
The status of each device is determined by the time since the last received signal (heartbeat):
| Status | Condition | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Online (green) | less than 2 minutes | Device is sending signals regularly |
| Warning (yellow) | 2 to 5 minutes | Connection unstable or signal delayed |
| Offline (red) | more than 5 minutes | Device unreachable or app closed |
By default, offline devices appear at the top of the list, followed by the remaining devices sorted by the time of their last signal.
THE OVERVIEW IN DETAIL
At the top, statistics tiles summarise the most important key figures: total devices, online, warning, offline, and devices with a low battery (below 20%).
The table below lists each device with the following columns:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Status | Coloured dot with status text |
| Device | Device name, device ID, app version and connection type (Wi-Fi or mobile network) |
| User | Currently logged-in user |
| Check-in profile | Configured profile or “Not configured” |
| Location | Assigned location |
| Last heartbeat | Time of the last signal (relative and absolute) |
| Last sync | Time of the last successful guest data sync |
| Battery | Current battery level shown as a bar and percentage |
| Unsynced check-ins | Number of check-ins stored locally that have not yet been transferred |
| Note: Pay particular attention to the “Unsynced check-ins” column. A high value means that the device contains check-ins that have not yet been transferred to the server. In the event of connection problems, you should ensure that this data is synced before the device is switched off. |
| Note: The last reported status remains visible permanently, even after the event. Devices are not automatically removed from the list. |
