This article explains how to check in guests at multiple locations at your event, for example at the entrance and at a second station—and how to track where a guest checked in.
REQUIREMENTS
Before you start, you need:
- The latest version of the AirLST Check-in App (from release 04/26)
- A valid AirLST account with access to the desired event
- One dedicated device per check-in location
HOW MULTIPLE CHECK-IN LOCATIONS WORK
Each device is assigned a unique device name and location in the Check-in App. With each check-in, the app saves this information together with the timestamp in the guest’s check-in history. This allows you to see whether and when a guest checked in at the entrance and at the second station.
For an already checked-in guest to be recorded again at another location, the Enable Multi Checkin and Check-in Only View options must also be activated on each device.
STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE
Complete the following steps on each device:
- Open the AirLST Check-in App and select the desired event.
- Tap the gear icon in the top-left corner to open the settings.
- Assign a unique device name, for example, “Device 1 – Entrance”.
- Enter the device’s location, for example, “Entrance”.
- Under Additional Options, activate the Enable Multi Checkin option.
- Activate the Check-in Only View option and confirm the activation.
- Connect the device to the internet before the event starts so that the guest list is fully synchronised.
| Important: If both Enable Multi Checkin and Check-in Only View are not activated, an already checked-in guest cannot be recorded again at a second check-in location. |
EXAMPLE: ENTRANCE AND SECOND STATION
| Setting | Device 1 | Device 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Device name | Device 1 – Entrance | Device 2 – Showroom |
| Location | Entrance | Showroom |
| Enable Multi Checkin | Optional | Activated |
| Check-in Only View | Optional | Activated |
TRACKING CHECK-INS
In the guest details view, under Check-in History, you can find all check-ins for a guest, including the timestamp, device name and location. Since guest details cannot be accessed in Check-in Only View, open the history on a device in regular mode.
During the event, you can monitor the status of all devices, including their locations, in the AirLST Suite under Guests > Device Monitor.
| Tip: Create a separate check-in profile for each check-in location, for example, “Entrance” and “Showroom”. The location is saved in the profile, allowing it to be quickly transferred to additional devices. In combination with PIN protection, this also prevents the settings on the device from being changed unintentionally. |
